Quiet Moment with a Coyote
Being still is one of my favorite ways to be in the forest. I was sitting quietly on the ground near the edge of a small clearing breastfeeding Julian when a pair of coyotes crossed the field. They didn’t see me until they were quite close, possibly because the sounds of the creek behind me drowned out any sounds I was making. When one of them noticed me it briefly startled before continuing calmly on its way.
